Eco-Habitat Limited is a new venture for Principal Ecologist, Emily Macfarlan, following a successful career for over 7 years within the Environmental Planning Team of a reputable multi-disciplinary company.
Emily studied at Keele University graduating in 2012 with a BSc (Hons) in Environment and Sustainability. Subsequently, Emily studied at Staffordshire University and was awarded a Merit for an MSc in Ecology and Conservation in 2013.
With a love of wildlife from a young age, Emily has grown up with twigs in her hair and an identification book as her bible. It only made sense Emily pursued a career in Ecology and it was inevitable that her social time would also revolve heavily around nature. Emily's passions are the three B's - badgers, bats and botany. Emily is an active member of the Cheshire Badger Vaccination Programme and is trained to cage-trap and vaccinate badgers in the fight against the transfer and spread of bovine tuberculosis. Emily is involved with projects and outings with local bat and botany groups and in 2017, Emily completed a University Certificate in Biological Recording and Species Identification with a particular interest in vascular, and non vascular plants.
